Meh. So, somebody transposed the old "grey goo" trope into speculative biology? I guess self-replicating nanobots just can't cut the suspension-of-disbelief mustard anymore.
Let me know when we can synthesize a self-replicating pseudo-bacterium from plain old homochiral amino acids or whatever, then I might be able to get worried. I don't think we're even close to that.
So much time, energy and money wasted chasing dark powers and so little invested in health and fitness with humility and reverence for complexities beyond our understanding.
