Here is what I really think. The reason it has such purchase in the modern climate is that people legitimately have anxiety over the fact that the immune system remembers an out of date model of the virus at all. It is like they are being caught using an iPhone 4.
Which is hilarious, because isn't this what we expect the adaptive immune system to do? It's like people are getting angry that the immune system memorizes epitopes to target in the future so you don't have to wait around for a novel response. The body does it, and people are mad that it happens? To your analogy, it's like getting mad that someone uses a super old phone when it can still call, check emails, and go online. What's the problem?
Hey, I'm right there with you. This old barrel hides my naked body and protects me from the rain. It's just as good as a bunch of those fancy schmancy "pants."
I agree wholeheartedly Kaya. If I could only hand my doctor, or a doctor friend a few papers to explain why my hesitancy to get the novel mRNA transfections has been validated, it's the German paper and Brian's exposition on it. The formation of IgG4 was unexpected, and unprecedented in vaccinology. It's a slow burn, long term, dose dependent effect. It's exactly what we all meant when we said, "we literally have no idea the long term effects of this new technology given the complexity of our immune systems".
It's refreshing that you're taking on OAS. And it is an idiotic name.

What's wrong with using an iPhone4? Asking for a friend.
It is demonstrably smaller than a baking sheet. You can literally fit it in a pocket and walk around with it, like some sort of wild savage.

Thank you!
