It's easy for the "intelligentsia" to theorize from up high in an ivory tower, but things are a bit more complicated across the pond and closer to the ground :(

The lengths to which the Ruling Class and their Media will go to propagandize us harder never ceases to amaze me. War is horrible enough. Do they really need to stage burnt babies and massacre scenes? (rhetorical question 🫠)

And to your point, they don't need AI. A good old oral report on beheaded babies (the new 'babies thrown out of incubators' narrative, IMO) was enough to gin up the desired emotions. It seems all so cynical.

People should be reminded that it is possible to produce fake images without computers. There is a long tradition of that art. Real scenarios can be faked, subjects can be faked (costumes, makeup, prothesis,) proportions between objects can be faked using light; even after the picture is taken, after all the preparation of the scene, it can also be manipulated, painted over, cropped and recomposed in many ways. For all this, exactly zero computers are necessary.

Computer-based fakery of still images makes everything faster. And automation of several tricks is obviously possible. Much cheaper too. It's everywhere now, but the human race has been subject to visual disinformation for quite a long time.

We are being sold the bag of goods that NOW everything is more dubious and difficult because of these new practice of faking images. The truth is that this is a manipulation of perception of historical truth: humans lie too much to themselves, well past the point of what is useful.

I’m watching this weird silence from the liberal Jews from NYC. It is a stereotype, (and it is somewhat unfair as it is not all Jews from there )but basically that group has already a huge identity issue with Israel. They sort of are dismissive of Israel and it’s rather barbaric and primitive policies (especially all things Netanyahu - I’m also not a huge fan of him) but have this moral superiority and studied aura of intelligentsia as they describe to you at gatherings how one must promote open immigration to all cultures, etc. I have to admit that I’m pretty annoyed at this point after hearing ad nauseum about how horrible Trump was, how they refuse to reconcile how the 6 billion Biden sent to Iran started this entire chain of events. Or that it was probably motivated by Biden/Obama to destroy the Saudi/Israel accord. Even many in Israel are not acknowledging this. That really irritates me for some reason. Maybe it is after hearing politely for so many years how I must feel, think and acknowledge things myself- according to their quite rigid societal guidelines. Interestingly enough, I do not have this with my very small group of Israeli acquaintances. They are much more open minded about things.

So they haven't all been unsettled by the BLM et al. embrace of "Paratroopestine" - but surely this requires some further feat of delusion, that what is prescribed for Israel's Jews *by American non-whites* wouldn't also be prescribed for American Jews. BLM doesn't see the same distinction they see in themselves.

When I first saw the picture of the alleged immolated baby, and before the allegations that it was an AI-generated fake, it looks like a dog/puppy to me.

It is pretty clearly not AI-ish, at all events. Animal, I would expect more slender. I think I base this off of the dog in Grave of the Fireflies. Very scientific.

The AI images always look fake to me, the backgrounds seem 'averaged' and very wrong looking faces and hands. AI is shit and it looks like it.

In case you are interested in a critique of AI, you can watch this video: https://rumble.com/v1loa5p-machines-will-never-rule-us.html

It's an idiosyncratic interview, no question about it. These are four libertarians atheist evolutionists Popperians talking, and the sum total of the IQs would be closer to 600 than 400.

Jobst Landgrebe and Barry Smith are the authors of the book "Why machines will never rule the world." These are true experts. Many years of experimentation with computers and deep thinking about the theoretical aspects of the whole shebang.

I have not read the book yet, but the conversation is very interesting, IMO.
