A Cardiologist Explains Why The Covid Vaccine Could Not Cause Damar Hamlin's Cardiac Arrest
Some important facts to help you avoid medical disinformation!
Guest post by A Big Time, Real Life Cardiologist.
As you have probably heard, 24 year-old Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed due to cardiac arrest 9 minutes into Monday’s game vs. the Bengals, shortly after completing a tackle.
Thankfully, Hamlin was revived via prompt defibrillation and is now reported to be stable and conscious with no signs of cognitive decay.
Of course, this hasn’t stopped the human worm-scum that are Anti-Vaxxers from both repugnantly thinking and despicably suggesting that Hamlin’s cardiac arrest was a result of his injection with an experimental gene therapy designed to turn his body into a proprietary protein product factory.
As a Big Time, Real Life Cardiologist I can assure you that it is almost certain that the Covid vaccines did not cause Hamlin’s cardiac arrest.
There are several reasons why, as I will now explain below.
i. Cardiac arrests can happen for other reasons.
Some Anti-Vaxxers might think that Covid vaccines caused Hamlin’s cardiac arrest because of a sustained misinformation campaign surrounding Covid vaccines and myocarditis.
However, what Anti-Vaxxers do not realize, is that other things can cause cardiac arrests.
They can be caused by genetic defects; trauma; asphyxiation; drugs; medications that aren’t Covid vaccines; myocarditis from causes that aren’t Covid vaccines; and chronic disease. The last item typically would not apply to a young adult like Hamlin, but there are still plenty of other items on the list that could.
As an analogy, try to imagine a group of people wanted to figure out why a vase had broken.
One person in the group might propose that the vase was dropped. Right away, it would be obvious that that proposition almost certainly can’t be true, because there are other ways that vases can break, such as being knocked over, or hit with an object. Any vase expert could tell you that without even looking it up in a book.
In sum, Anti-Vaxxers are simply unaware that other things cause cardiac arrests. But as a Real Life Cardiologist, I have that awareness, which is why I am able to understand that the Covid vaccines almost certainly did not cause this cardiac arrest.
What Is Really True About Covid Vaccines and Myocarditis?
A lot of confusion surrounds this topic, but as a Real Life Cardiologist I am better equipped to evaluate the evidence and help you separate fact from misinformation.
One particularly egregious example of worm-scum, Anti-Vaxxer misinformation regarding myocarditis can be found on the web site of notorious Anti-Vaxxer con artist Pfizer, Inc.

Here, Pfizer (falsely) claims that the risk of myocarditis is “higher among” “adult males under 40 years of age.” This might lead readers to imagine that because Damar Hamlin is 24, he is at “higher” risk of myocarditis from Covid vaccines.
But this is false; what it actually means is that older adults and females are at an even lower risk of myocarditis.
Unfortunately, Pfizer has mistakenly taken this incredible Covid vaccine safety fact and used it to present their customers with confusing, misleading Anti-Vax scaremongering.
Further, even if Covid vaccines can cause myocarditis, it would be obvious to an expert like me that they almost certainly did not cause myocarditis in Hamlin’s case (should it turn out to be true that his cardiac arrest was preceded by myocarditis, which it almost certainly wasn’t). Once again, this is because other things can cause myocarditis. One of those things is the virus SARS-CoV-2.
And since Covid vaccines prevent severe infections with SARS-CoV-2, it is clear that anyone who experiences myocarditis after a Covid vaccine must have gotten it from SARS-CoV-2.
Almost certainly.
The most likely cause: commotio cordis
As there are so many things besides Covid vaccines that can cause cardiac arrests, it would be premature to settle on just one. In the coming days, we’ll hopefully have a lot more info. Right now the big thing is to remember that it almost certainly can’t be Covid vaccines.
But as a Real Life Cardiologist, I can tell you my first thought for what caused Hamlin’s cardiac arrest (and it certainly wasn’t the Covid vaccines!), which is commotio cordis. This is the condition where young male athletes experience ventricular fibrillation due to impact with a small object in the chest.
Hamlin is also a “young male,” and was struck with a small object in the chest immediately before his cardiac arrest.

Real Life Cardiologists like me deal with and think about commotio cordis all the time, around the clock, like sex or golf socks. Even though commotio cordis only causes 10 to 20 cardiac arrests a year as opposed to the many hundreds of thousands of cardiac arrests caused by other reasons, Real Life Cardiologists are constantly on the lookout for a new case.
So right away, this is what I thought had happened when I heard about the tragedy of Damar Hamlin on Monday night. I never would have thought the Covid vaccines were involved in a million years, if it wasn’t for those worm-scum Anti-Vaxxers.
ii. Covid vaccines cannot cause cardiac arrest
Second to not realizing other things cause cardiac arrest, worm-scum Anti-Vaxxers do not understand that Covid vaccines almost certainly can’t cause cardiac arrests to begin with.
As a Real Life Cardiologist, one of the first things we learn in Cardiologist School is that experimental biological products can’t make hearts stop. The reason we know this is because it is what Cardiologist School told us to think.
Lay readers might not realize, but not just anybody can tell Real Life Cardiologists in Cardiologist Schools what they are supposed to think. The people who run Cardiologist Schools tightly monitor who comes in and out, and who wears Teacher Coats, to make sure outsiders with crazy ideas can’t get up in front of the class and start filling our heads with all sorts of who-knows-what.
There’s strict security in place watching over who wears the coats, who gets in front of the chalkboard, prevention of taping fake covers over books, etc., and if anything does go wrong on that front, then the contaminated Cardiologist students are loaded up into a bus with dark windows and taken away somewhere and no one asks any questions.
So I, a Real Life Cardiologist, very clearly know that experimental biological products can’t make hearts stop.
As an analogy, imagine that a pharmaceutical company came up to a group of people and asked to throw their vase around, just to see what would come of it. The group of people might then get worried due to the crazy idea that the pharmaceutical company could possibly, somehow, break the vase.
However, a vase expert would understand that pharmaceutical companies can’t break vases.
Maybe, it might even happen that the vase does get broken while the pharmaceutical company was throwing it around. Once again, the vase expert would clearly understand that it couldn’t have been from the throwing; due to having been told in Vase School that it just can’t happen (almost certainly). If it does happen, the vase expert would be told about it after the fact; the vase expert knows that there are lots of medications that can cause broken vases, but only if he is told that they do.
So it almost certainly can’t happen unless it does.
And so this is also why Real Life Cardiologists like me know that experimental biological products can’t cause cardiac arrests. I hope the reader finds that reassuring.
Conclusion
Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest was a tragedy on many levels. It was a tragedy for him and his family and teammates, to be sure — but even bigger than that, it was a tragedy for the whole human race, which in the wake of the news, tragically disgraced itself by daring to wonder if the ongoing experimental gene therapy it has been blessedly injected with could have caused the tragedy.
At this rate, I’m starting to think humans don’t even deserve to be the lab rats they have been lucky enough to be coerced and deceived by the billions into becoming.
I was THIS close to unsubscribing... :)
One of my friends has an MD son working in a big city hospital system. He's only been an MD for a year or so, very young, actually just a resident at this point. A month or so ago another young resident who worked with him died of... cardiac arrest. When my friend told her son that his colleague was possibly killed by the mandated shots, the open-minded, inquiring young doctor hung up on her. That's how to handle the worm-scum that birthed you and raised you when she starts trying to feed you misinformation. Hang up on her.
